David then worked as an Advertising Representative at The Pawtucket Times in 2006, capturing new sources of ad revenue and scheduling promotional advertising. In 2007, they joined V.H. Blackinton & Co., Inc. as a Sales Assistant and was later promoted to Northeast Regional Sales Manager. In this role, they directed and grew sales in the municipal government market and collaborated with distribution partners to identify growth opportunities. David was then promoted to Federal Sales Manager, where they managed and grew the key federal government market by refining sales and marketing strategies. Finally, they became the Director of Sales at V.H. Blackinton & Co., Inc. in 2016, leading major change initiatives, building relationships with channel partners, and driving revenue growth.

David Elliott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Rhode Island College, although the exact start and end years are not specified.
