Daniel Reyes

Grounds Manager at V. Sattui Winery

Daniel got his start in agriculture at a very young age, working with his father in the fields of Michoacan, Mexico. His family lived off the land and there was never enough food to go around, inspiring Daniel to venture to the US for more opportunity.

Upon arrival, he immediately got to work, spending several years in various positions – propagating roses, harvesting mushrooms, working sanitation, and more. Whatever he did, he always worked hard and excelled. In 1984 he met Carolyn Sattui (Dario’s sister), who introduced him to the winery, and he was brought on to perform all sorts of new roles. In 1985, Dario asked Daniel to create landscaping worthy of a world-class wedding destination, and he continues managing the gorgeous grounds today. A true gentleman, Daniel enjoys engaging with staff and guests and frequently works member events, where he builds long-term relationships with V. Sattui fans.

Through working for V. Sattui, and with the support of Napa Valley Farmworkers Association, Daniel was able to get an education and complete his US citizenship. Daniel returns home every day, to his family of four, on the Estate Carsi Vineyard property in Yountville.
