Associate Scientist at Vaccitech

Andrew Bridson, M.Sci has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. Andrew started their career as a Shadowing Laboratory Personnel at Unilever in 2011, where they gained valuable insight into the working life of scientists. Andrew then pursued their studies and conducted an integrated research project at Bangor University during their B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs.

After completing their studies, Andrew worked as a Science Technician at Milk Education from February 2019 to November 2020. During this time, they gained practical experience in laboratory techniques and contributed to the smooth running of the science department.

In 2019, Andrew also attended a Mammalian Cell Culture Training Course at BioGrad, which further enhanced their skills in cell culture techniques.

In November 2020, Andrew joined Adaptimmune as an Associate Scientist. Andrew was responsible for aiding the T Cell Process Development group in optimizing the manufacturing process for Adaptimmune's cutting-edge SPEAR-T Cell therapy. Andrew'swork involved various molecular techniques and handling primary and secondary cell cultures.

Andrew's most recent position is an Associate Scientist at Vaccitech, where they started in July 2021. Andrew'sresponsibilities include performing experiments alongside the early development and process development teams to contribute to the development of vaccines using the ChAdOx1 viral vector platform.

Throughout their career, Andrew has demonstrated their passion for scientific research and has consistently sought opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge in the field.

Andrew Bridson, M.Sci has a strong educational background in the field of science and biology. Andrew completed their Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Molecular Biology with Biotechnology at Bangor University from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honours (B.Sc Hons) in Biomedical Science (IBMS Accredited) from the same university, covering the period from 2014 to 2017.

Before entering university, Andrew attended Birkenhead Sixth Form College from 2012 to 2014, where they studied Medical Science, Applied Science, and History.
