Vladimir S. has a diverse work experience in the field of security and compliance. Vladimir is currently working as the Director and Head of Security, Compliance, and Risk (CISO) at Vaco since August 2019. Vladimir is also a member of the CISO Advisory Board at IT Security Leadership Exchange since December 2021. Additionally, Vladimir is a member of the VigiTrust Global Advisory Board, where they collaborate with key stakeholders in the security and compliance industry to discuss industry trends, laws, and upcoming standards. Vladimir has previously served as an Advisory Board Member at AppVision Corp and Georgia State University - Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. Prior to that, Vladimir worked as the Information Security Director (Chief Information Security Officer/CISO) at Georgia Lottery Corporation from March 2014 to August 2019. Vladimir also has several years of experience in IT management at CH2M. Vladimir's career began in the United States Marine Corps, where they served as a Staff Sergeant and held various roles related to digital communications instruction and intelligence operations.

Vladimir S. obtained a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity from Southern New Hampshire University from 2021 to 2025. Prior to that, they completed professional certificate courses in Business Applications Programming at UC San Diego from 1994 to 1995. Vladimir also received a certificate from the US Marine Corps from 1984 to 1994. Additionally, Vladimir attended summer language courses at the University of Arizona in 1993 and completed a Russian Basic Language course at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center from 1991 to 1992. Vladimir has obtained several certifications, including Certified CSF Practitioner, CISM, CRISC, GIAC GSLC, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Senior Instructor (Communications).
