Erik van Ballegooijen

Erik van Ballegooijen is an accomplished professional in the field of engineering and research and development, currently serving as the Director of R&D at VAF Instruments since October 2015. With a robust background that includes leadership roles in various capacities at Wärtsilä from November 2001 to September 2015, Erik has successfully managed multidisciplinary teams focused on propulsion R&D, project management, and mechanical systems development. Erik’s experience also encompasses significant contributions as a Senior Engineer in hydrodynamics and project management for technology and product development. Academic qualifications include a Master of Technology Design (MTD) and a Master of Science (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering, both from Eindhoven University of Technology.
