Marwan Berrada-Sounni

Marwan Berrada-Sounni has a diverse range of experience in the medical device and healthcare industry. Marwan is the President, CEO, and co-founder of Advanced NanoTherapies, Inc, a company focused on developing drug-coated balloons using biodegradable nanoparticle technology. Prior to this, they co-founded VahatiCor Inc, aimed at addressing the unmet needs of refractory angina patients.

Marwan also served as the Chief Business Officer at NEXSTEP MEDICAL, where they worked on developing a novel device for interventional radiologists and cardiologists. Marwan played a key role in shaping the product strategy and facilitating US clinical development.

As a Member of the Medical Device and Digital Health Screening team at Life Science Angels, Marwan contributed their expertise in evaluating medical device and digital health startups. Marwan also served as an Executive In Residence at Shifamed, a renowned medtech incubator, where they assessed unmet clinical needs and led innovation and ideation sessions.

Marwan's experience includes a senior leadership role as the Senior Director of Product Development at the Global Cardiovascular Innovation Center, where they collaborated with physicians to identify needs, develop solutions, and build relevant products. Marwan also co-founded Agile MV, a product development and strategic consulting firm specializing in the medical device industry.

Earlier in their career, Marwan held executive positions at Bavaria Medical Technology, Canada Inc, where they grew contract R&D, managed budgets, and secured funding for product development. Marwan also worked at CryoCath Technologies and ev3 Inc. as a Project Manager, Senior R&D Engineer, and Senior R&D Engineer, respectively. In these roles, they led successful product launches, managed regulatory processes, and developed innovative medical technologies.

Marwan Berrada-Sounni began their education at the University of Minnesota in 1993, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Marwan successfully graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999. Following this, they furthered their education at the same university and obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, which they completed in 2001.

In 2005, Marwan Berrada-Sounni decided to pursue a new field of study and enrolled in McGill University. Marwan undertook a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program with a focus on Finance and Strategy. Marwan dedicated four years to their studies and completed their MBA in 2009.
