Jim Peterson

Jim Peterson is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in software development and technical leadership. Currently employed at Vail Systems since February 2008, Jim specializes in developing software for 800plus, reports, and web applications using languages such as C++, Perl, JavaScript, and HTML. Prior to Vail Systems, extensive work was done at Motorola from August 1982 to March 2007, where roles included Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff and Senior Staff Engineer, contributing to pioneering projects in cellular switching systems and automated testing tools. Earlier experiences include a position at Bell Labs as a Member of the Technical Staff, focusing on T-carrier network monitoring systems, and significant educational experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois, where Jim taught algebra, calculus, and probability. Jim holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, both from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
