Jarmo Heusala

Jarmo Heusala has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Jarmo started their career as a Summer Trainee at Elisa in 1990, where they worked in fixed network switching center metering and connecting cabling. Jarmo then transitioned to working as a repairman on the field analyzing and fixing broken or unreliable data network connections. At Elisa, they also had some experience as a work advisor.

In 1999, Jarmo joined Nokia as a Software Engineer. During their 17-year tenure at the company, they had various responsibilities. In the early years, they focused on software testing and product delivery media creation. From 2005 onwards, they shifted to product development tasks, including user permission management, installation framework, different GUI platforms, and professional Network Management Java web applications.

Since 2016, Jarmo has been working at VALA Group as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, they are a software developer working as a consultant. Currently, they are involved in developing a financial web portal for end customers and different services around it. The web content is managed by Liferay, with the backend developed in Java and REST interfaces.

Jarmo Heusala has a diverse educational background. Jarmo began their education in 1989 at Pohjois-Helsingin Lukio where they completed their high school studies in an unspecified field of study. Following this, from 1994 to 1995, they attended Helsinki Polytechnic and obtained an Engineer's Degree in Telecommunications Technology/Technician. Continuing their academic journey, they enrolled at the University of Helsinki in 1995 and spent ten years there, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in 2005.

In addition to their formal education, Jarmo Heusala holds a certification as a Certified Scrum Master, which they obtained from the Scrum Alliance in September 2009.
