In 2008, they joined The City of Calgary as a Project Coordinator, handling various responsibilities such as coordinating construction activities, preparing project plans, and evaluating bids.

Don then moved on to McGregor Construction 2000 Ltd in 2010, where they worked as a Lines Design Engineer and later as a Lines Design Manager. In these roles, they led teams in power line design projects and oversaw client interactions, recruitment, and training of engineering team members.

Don'smost recent role was at Valard Construction LP, where they held several positions. Don started as a Lines Design Manager in 2015 and worked on transmission and distribution projects. Later, they became the Director of Commercial Operations, responsible for project development and cost estimation. Finally, they served as the Vice President of US Operations, providing leadership and overseeing project managers, construction managers, safety managers, and quality managers.
