Georgios Rigas

Georgios Rigas has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and healthcare. Georgios is currently working as a Data Scientist at Valcon since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Moneyhub Enterprise as a Data Scientist from August 2021 to August 2022.

Georgios also gained experience as a Data Scientist Intern at NHS, where they focused on demand prediction for healthcare services using Machine Learning. Georgios created ML forecasting models to predict video consultations and optimize hospital staffing and resource allocation across Wales. Georgios interned at NHS from May 2021 to September 2021.

Before entering the field of data science, Georgios worked as a mental health care assistant at Brookdale from September 2017 to September 2019. Georgios also served as a Research Assistant at the University of Glasgow from August 2016 to July 2017.

Georgios Rigas has a diverse education history. Georgios first pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences from 2006 to 2014. After completing their undergraduate studies, Georgios went on to obtain a Master of Science degree in psychological science from the University of Glasgow in 2015-2016.

In 2019-2021, Georgios continued their education by pursuing another Master of Science degree, this time in data science and analytics, at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd.

In addition to their formal education, Georgios has also obtained various certifications to expand their skillset. Georgios has completed certifications in SQL (both intermediate and basic) from HackerRank, as well as certifications in Introduction to Power BI, Intermediate Python, Introduction to SQL, Joining Data with SQL, Joining Data with pandas, and Azure AI Fundamentals. Furthermore, they have also completed a course on Machine Learning with Python from Coursera.
