Ben Cockrill

Ben Cockrill has over 30 years of work experience in engineering and project management roles. Ben started their career as an Engineering Coop Student at Consolidated Aluminum, where they managed the emergency rebuild of a slab reheat furnace. Ben then worked as a General Car Foreman at Norfolk Southern, overseeing maintenance on rail cars and locomotives. At Alumax Mill Products, they served as a Senior Project Engineer, responsible for various capital projects throughout the plant.

Cockrill also worked at Raytheon Engineers and Constructors, where they held positions as a Project Engineering Manager, Engineer, and Supervising Discipline Engineer. Their notable projects at Raytheon included a feasibility study and capital budget for a bar mill facility upgrade at Austeel Lemont, and a melt shop upgrade at Birmingham Steel Corporation.

Later, they joined Noranda Aluminum as an Engineering and Maintenance Manager, where they oversaw plant maintenance and capital projects for the wide light gauge foil mill. Following that, they served as the Manager of Mechanical Engineering at Hefter Industries, responsible for machine design, MEP, process, and piping for various industrial projects.

At Valdes Engineering Company, Cockrill held multiple roles including Director of Mechanical Engineering, Director of Operations, Director of Major Projects, and Director of Project Operations. In these positions, they were responsible for overseeing engineering and project management activities in sectors such as refining, chemicals, power, and industrial/metals.

Most recently, Cockrill has been working at HOH Engineers, Inc. as the Director of Mechanical, where their responsibilities included managing the mechanical engineering department, targeted sales, project management, and quality assignments across various sectors.
