Gricor Channakian

Gricor Channakian is a geotechnical engineer with extensive experience in project coordination and management, particularly in geotechnics, dam construction, and infrastructure development. Currently serving as the Coordinator of Geotechnics for Pits, Piles, and Hydrogeology at Vale since March 2024, Gricor previously held multiple leadership roles at Equinox Gold Corp. from July 2020 to March 2024, overseeing significant projects such as the expansion of the MRDM tailings dam and the construction of Vené 2 and Vené 1 dams. Additional experience includes coordinating operations at Metacal Construtora and managing civil engineering projects at CPL Construtora Ltda and Predil Empreendimentos Ltda. Gricor holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Universidade Federal da Bahia and has furthered professional education with postgraduate qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering and People Management and Occupational Safety.
