Cristian Gabellini

Application Scientist, Computational Chemistry at Valence Discovery

Cristian Gabellini has a diverse work experience in various scientific and engineering roles. Cristian started their career at FINCANTIERI S.p.A., where they worked as a Technical Systems Engineer from September 2019 to December 2019.

Cristian then moved on to Univerzita Jana Evangelisty Purkyně v Ústí nad Labem, where they conducted research on Behler-Parrinello neural networks for nanomaterial simulations and implemented k-nearest neighbors and autoencoder techniques to coarse-grain different solvents. This research took place from February 2020 to May 2020.

Following their research role, Cristian joined SMS group S.p.A. as a Software Engineer in the R&D Modeling & Digitalization department. Cristian worked there from November 2021 to April 2022.

In their next position, at Università degli Studi di Trieste, Cristian worked as a researcher. Cristian was involved in various projects, including creating a framework called BayGPGO for global multi-objective optimization of Coarse-Grained force fields using Bayesian optimization. Cristian also conducted investigations on the influence of the peripheral bulk of a monolayer on solvent accessible area. Additionally, they developed and implemented routines to accurately simulate the behavior of AuNPs in explicit solvents. Cristian'stime at Università degli Studi di Trieste spanned from January 2021 to May 2022.

Currently, Cristian Gabellini is employed at Valence Discovery as an Application Scientist in Computational Chemistry, starting from August 2022.

Cristian Gabellini completed their education at the Università degli Studi di Trieste. From 2012 to 2017, they pursued a Laurea triennale in Ingegneria industriale with a curriculum focused on materials. After that, from 2018 to 2020, they obtained a Laurea Specialistica in Ingegneria del Processo e dei Materiali, specializing in Ingegneria dei materiali.

In addition to their academic degrees, Cristian also earned two certifications. In 2018, they received a Certificate of Completion from the Summer School on Energy Giacomo Ciamician. In 2021, they achieved an IELTS Academic overall band score of 8.0 from the British Council.
