Amanda Kern currently serves as the Program Chair of Art, Graphic Design + Digital Media and a Professor at Valencia College since August 2004. In addition to academic roles, Amanda is the Founder of REDEFINING SPINA BIFIDA INC, established in May 2015, which focuses on education and advocacy for individuals affected by spina bifida. As a professional photographer since January 2008, Amanda specializes in capturing newborns, children, and families, with a commitment to non-profit photography. Prior experience includes roles as a Designer/Programmer, Art Director, and Project Manager at Candace Crowe Design, as well as service as a Military Policeman and Investigator in the US Army from October 1995 to July 2001. Amanda holds multiple degrees, including a Master in Non-Profit Management from the University of Central Florida and both M.F.A. and B.A. degrees in Graphic Design and Digital Media from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
