Nelson Torres

Nelson Torres has over a decade of experience in academic leadership and environmental science education, currently serving as the Manager of Learning Support Services at Valencia College since November 2012. In this role, Nelson provides leadership to academic teams, coordinates communications, and manages a substantial operational budget. Previous roles include Associate Professor of Environmental Science and Student Success, Instructional Lab Supervisor, and various positions in animal husbandry and facility management at organizations such as the Orlando Science Center and Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Nelson holds a Master's of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, with additional minors in Leadership Studies and Chemistry, from Christopher Newport University.
