Steven Purtee is a seasoned educator with extensive experience in mathematics and physics. Currently serving as a Professor of Mathematics at Valencia College since August 2009, Steven has taught a diverse range of courses from Intermediate Algebra to Differential Equations and actively advises the Student Research Community. Prior to this role, Steven was a Graduate Assistant and Instructor at the University of Central Florida, teaching calculus courses, and developed a specialized calculus curriculum for M&M majors. Additionally, Steven contributed to the Upward Bound Math Science program as an Instructor, where various physics and math courses were taught to underprivileged high school students. Early career experiences include serving as a Research Assistant at Kent State University, focusing on condensed matter research, and holding adjunct professor positions at Shawnee State University and Southern State Community College. Steven holds a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Central Florida and a Master's degree in Physics from Kent State University, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Shawnee State University.
