Amil Khan

Amil Khan is the Co-Founder and CEO of Valent, a company established during the pandemic in January 2020 with a Covid loan. Previous experience includes serving as a Senior Advisor at the UK Government's Stabilisation Unit from February 2015 to December 2020, focusing on disinformation research and mitigation strategies. Amil was an Associate Fellow at Chatham House from October 2017 to December 2019, conducting research on peer-to-peer digital communications and their effects on political dynamics in South Asia and the Middle East. Additional roles include Senior Communications Advisor at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (January 2013 - January 2015), Project Director at Chime Group (January 2009 - January 2013), and Middle East correspondent for Reuters (January 2003 - October 2006). Early career as a freelance journalist spanned major cities in the Middle East and involved work with various publications. Amil holds a Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and Literature from Durham University and has pursued studies in Middle East History and Politics at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, as well as Arabic Language at the British Council in Cairo.
