Valeo Vocation
Valeo Vocation is a social enterprise providing temporary staffing solutions to our customers in Tacoma and Pierce County, WA, while providing employment opportunities to our clients experiencing homelessness. We combine business acumen with an innovative social program to help our clients move quickly from homelessness to stable employment and permanent housing. We are a competitive, viable business, but our fiscal purpose is in service of our social purpose. We use our "profit" to fund our program by providing comprehensive case management and supportive services to our clients, reducing their barriers to employment, providing employment skills training, career coaching, and assistance with basic needs while they earn income and achieve stability. Unlike many social services programs that depend on donors or grants to fund their operations, we generate over 65% of our total operating revenue from our operation. Valeo differs from many workforce development programs in that we put our clients to work almost immediately, and provide additional resources, training, and support as they achieve agreed-upon milestones. We differ from many day-labor opportunities in that we serve as the employer, performing all payroll and HR functions, preparing our employees for what they will experience in the traditional work environment. This benefits our clients by helping them build an employment history and documentable income necessary to obtain a lease. Valeo benefits our customers by bringing new workers into the labor market. Our dedication to serving our client/employees sets us apart in the temporary staffing industry--we are actively participating in their growth as quality employees. This drives our customer service experience as well. We seek customer feedback to ensure our clients are providing the quality work the customer expects.
