Francois Bordes

Francois Bordes is an experienced engineering professional with a career spanning over three decades in the automotive and energy industries. Currently serving as CTO and R&D Director at Valeo since July 2013, Bordes oversees the Thermal Power Train Product Group, focusing on marketing and research and development. Previously, Bordes was the Managing Director at Mubea from May 2007 to May 2013, leading a business unit in engine components with substantial financial oversight. At PSA Peugeot Citroën, from 1989 to 2007, Bordes held multiple roles, including Chief Engineer, where significant contributions were made to the co-development of the Prince 1.6L gasoline engine family in collaboration with BMW and the development of various powertrain technologies. Earlier in the career, Bordes worked at ARCO Chemical, contributing to green engine fuel advocacy. Academic qualifications include an Engineer's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Centrale Nantes and an Engineer's degree in Engine Development from IFP School.
