Matt Southern

Matt Southern has a diverse work experience that spans over several roles and industries. Matt began their career in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Commissioned Officer, serving until 1999. Following that, they worked as a Production Supervisor at Freightliner from 1999 to 2002. Matt then transitioned to the role of Quality Assurance Supervisor at Transit Management of Charlotte, where they worked until 2004. From 2004 to 2016, they worked at Booz Allen Hamilton as a Project Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Operations at ValidaTek, Inc., starting in 2016.

Matt Southern completed their education with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Government Acquisition from Strayer University (VA) in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a degree in Marine Science from the US Coast Guard Academy from 1989 to 1993, specializing in Physical Oceanography and Marine Biology. In addition to their formal education, Matt holds a certification as a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute, although the specific date of the certification is not specified.
