Michael Hazen has a diverse work experience spanning over four decades. Michael started their career in the US Navy, where they served as an Operations Specialist for over 22 years. After leaving the Navy, Michael held various roles in different companies.
From 2003 to 2008, Michael worked as an Information Technologies Requirements Analyst/Project Manager at Ki Company LLC. During this time, they analyzed and evaluated customer IT requirements, ensuring their feasibility and technical soundness.
At Superlative Technologies, from 2008 to 2011, Michael served as a Microsoft SharePoint Portal Engineer, Program Manager, and Senior Training Specialist. Michael developed and facilitated training programs for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, both classroom-based and computer-based.
From 2011 to 2012, Michael worked as a Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin Information Technology.
In 2012, Michael joined Professional Software Engineering as a SharePoint Systems Administrator/NSWCCD ProSoft Site Lead. Michael was responsible for maintaining SharePoint production and development environments and creating custom solutions.
From 2017 to 2018, Michael worked at T-Solutions, Inc. as a KM/IM Analyst for the US Fleet Forces Command Maritime Operations Center. Michael provided support, training, and technical assistance to staff and watch standers.
Michael then joined ValidaTek, Inc. in 2018 as a Senior Systems Engineer, supporting the United States Coast Guard Maritime Intelligence Fusion Center Atlantic. Michael also served as a Senior System Engineer at General Dynamics Information Technology from 2020 to 2021, supporting the Department of Homeland Security Homeland Security Information Network.
Currently, Michael holds the position of Software Developer III at ValidaTek, Inc., where they support the Defense Information Systems Agency Joint Service Provider as part of the Engineering and Development for the Enterprise Team. Michael'sresponsibilities include supporting SharePoint sites, custom solutions, and Power Platform tools.

Michael Hazen has a diverse education history. In 1978, they began attending Ralph C. Mahar Regional H.S., where they completed their high school education in 1981. Following this, in 2011, they pursued a Health IT Engineer Certificate at Tidewater Community College.
In addition to their formal education, Michael has obtained several certifications. Michael became a Microsoft Certified Professional in May 2011, specializing in installing, configuring, and administering Microsoft Windows XP Professional (70-270) as well as configuring Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (70-631). Michael also earned certifications in other Microsoft technologies, including Windows 7 configuration (70-680) and SharePoint Server 2007 configuration (70-630). Furthermore, Michael attained certifications from CompTIA, such as CompTIA A+ IT Technician, CompTIA Security+ (SYO-201)(2008 Edition), and CompTIA Green IT Specialist.
Recently, in April 2021, Michael added to their certifications by becoming an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. Michael also updated their CompTIA certifications, earning CompTIA A+ CE and CompTIA Security+ CE (SYO-301) in June 2021. Moreover, they obtained the Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in April 2023.
