David Hoover, CISSP

David Hoover, CISSP has over 17 years of experience in the Information Technology and Information Security fields. David began their career in 2002 as a LAN Technician for Cascades Tissue Group in Rockingham, NC. From 2005 to 2011, they worked as a Sr Network Technician and Instructor at Fayetteville Technical Community College. In 2011, they worked as a Freelance Technical Writer for 6connect, Inc. and a Computer Network Technologist - Team Lead for Raytheon. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as an Information Assurance and Security Engineer and Network Engineer for CGI Federal. From 2014 to 2018, they were the Global Information Security Manager for ABB. In 2018, they became the Principal Security Consultant for a Company Confidential. Since 2019, they have been the Chief Information Security Officer and Associate Director, Data Privacy and Information Security for Validic. In these roles, they are responsible for developing and directing data security and privacy, including establishing a data privacy and information security program for products, support, health software data development and other services within the Company which resulted in ISO 27001 and HITRUST certification. David is also working with HIPAA, CCPA and GDPR requirements toward/maintaining compliance and certification. David is also involved in securing Cloud technologies hosting important data and services.

David Hoover, CISSP has an extensive education history and certification portfolio. David began their education in 2000 at Robeson Community College, where they obtained an AAS in Networking. From 2007 to 2010, they attended Fayetteville Tech Comm College, where they completed general education and IT Security courses. In 2009, they earned a Bachelor's of Science in Information Technology with a focus in Information Assurance and Security from Capella University. David then earned a Masters of Science in Information Systems Technology Management from Capella University in 2012. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including Security+ (2007), Certified Novell Administrator (2003), A+ (2002), Network+ (2002), ITILv3 (2012), Certified Fiber Optic Specialist - Testing and Maintenance (2012), Certified Fiber Optic Technician (2012), Meru Certified Engineer (2011), CISSP (2013), and GWAPT (2015).
