Gabriela Fernandez

Gabriela Fernandez, MPH has a diverse range of work experience. Gabriela currently serves as the Physician Recruitment Director at Valley Baptist Health System, starting in September 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Ambassador at All of Us Research UArizona-Banner Health from April 2022 to June 2023.

From September 2016 to May 2022, Gabriela was a Project Manager at Su Clinica. Gabriela also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health from August 2015 to May 2016.

In 2015, Gabriela had two roles. Gabriela was an Administrative Intern at Houston Methodist from June to August, where they worked on quality improvement projects and earned a Lean Six Sigma White Belt. Additionally, they served as a Research Assistant at Columbia University - National Center for Children in Poverty from January to May, where they conducted a national survey on early childhood mental health services covered by Medicaid.

Gabriela's earlier experience includes working as a Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin from January to May 2014, where they analyzed qualitative data for a study on cancer patient blogs. Gabriela also worked as a Leasing Agent at The Ballpark Apartments from January 2012 to May 2014, managing and facilitating apartment complexes.

In January to April 2013, Gabriela interned at Make-A-Wish Spain, translating documents for Make-A-Wish foundations worldwide and coordinating children's wishes.

Gabriela Fernandez, MPH has a Bachelor's Degree in Corporate Communications and Spanish - Hispanic Studies from The University of Texas at Austin, which they received in 2014. Gabriela then went on to complete their Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Policy and Management at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health from 2014 to 2016. Currently, Gabriela is pursuing their Doctor of Public Health - DrPH degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health, which they are expected to receive in 2024.
