Shannon Castle

Shannon Castle has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Shannon currently holds the position of Trauma Medical Director at Valley Children's Healthcare, where they have been working since November 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Associate Trauma Medical Director and Pediatric Surgeon at the same institution.

Shannon also has experience working at UCSF Medical Center, where they served as an Assistant Clinical Professor (Volunteer) since August 2019. Before that, they were a Pediatric Surgery Fellow at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) from June 2016 to July 2018. Shannon also completed a Pediatric Surgery MIS Fellowship at Miller Children's Hospital Long Beach from July 2015 to June 2016 and a Pediatric Surgery Critical Care Fellowship at CHLA from June 2014 to June 2015.

Their earlier experience includes being a Resident in General Surgery at UC San Diego Health System from 2006 to 2014, a Research Fellow at CHLA from 2009 to 2012, and a Research Associate at Salk Institute for Biological Studies from April 2001 to August 2002.

Shannon Castle holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from UC San Diego. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the same institution. Additionally, Shannon has several certifications including Pediatric Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, Certified Nutrition Support Clinician, and Surgery, all obtained from various institutions between the years 2014 and 2019.
