Christine Gartner M.D.

Christine Gartner, MD, MS has extensive work experience in the field of psychiatry and psychotherapy. Christine is currently serving as the Behavioral Health Medical Director at Valley Health Plan since July 2021. Prior to this, they had their own practice as a Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist since September 2000. Christine also worked as a Psychiatrist for the County of Santa Clara Health System from November 1997. In addition, they served as a Psychiatrist at Santa Clara University from January 2019 to January 2020.

Dr. Christine Gartner pursued their education at multiple prestigious institutions. From 1989 to 1995, they attended the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine, where they obtained a medical degree (M.D.) with a specialization in Medicine. Simultaneously, from 1989 to 1993, they also studied at the University of California, Berkeley, earning a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Health and Medical Sciences. Prior to that, Dr. Gartner completed their undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1981 to 1986, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Molecular Biology.

Aside from their extensive education background, Dr. Gartner also possesses additional certification as a Diplomate from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, which they obtained in December 2001.
