Guenther Baerje

Guenther Baerje has extensive experience in medical staff management, having worked in various director roles in the healthcare industry. Guenther began their career at Kindred (Vencor) Hospital as the Director of Medical Staff Services, where they managed various medical staff functions and was responsible for credentialing, meeting management, and regulatory survey preparation. Guenther also implemented database programs for credentialing and continuing education tracking. Baerje then moved on to Torrance Memorial Medical Center as the Assistant Director of Medical Staff Services, where they oversaw multiple departments and committees and implemented important revisions to meet Joint Commission expectations. Guenther later joined USC University Hospital / Norris Cancer Hospital as the Director of Medical Staff Administration, where they managed a team responsible for medical staff departments and committees, graduate medical education, and the medical library. During their tenure, Baerje made significant updates to meeting management processes and merged the hospitals' bylaws and rules. Guenther then worked at Good Samaritan Hospital as the Director of Medical Staff Management, overseeing a department responsible for medical staff meeting management, credentials verification, and continuing education. The department received zero deficiencies during their tenure, and Baerje received praise for their work on the medical staff bylaws and rules. After that, they joined Providence Saint John's Health Center as the Director of Medical Staff Services, where they held similar responsibilities. Most recently, Baerje was appointed as the Director of Medical Staff Services at CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Medical Staff Services at Valley Presbyterian Hospital.

Guenther Baerje obtained a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) from the University of Phoenix between 1999 and 2002. In terms of additional certifications, they acquired the NAMSS Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certification from the National Association Medical Staff Services in 2021.
