Kaysie Schmidt currently serves as the Director of Healthcare Innovation & Strategy at Valley-Wide Health Systems since October 2024. Prior to this role, Kaysie was the Director of Physical Health Operations at Southeast Health Group from May 2020 to October 2024. Kaysie's earlier experience includes a position as Health Navigator Faculty at Otero Junior College, where responsibilities involved leadership in the Health Navigator program, curriculum development, and academic advising from August 2013 to May 2020. Kaysie's career also includes serving as Executive Director of Bent County Public Health from July 2010 to August 2013 and as Tobacco Control Program Director and STEPP Peer Mentor at Otero County Health Department from January 2001 to July 2010. Kaysie holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health with a concentration in Leadership and Public Health Practice from the Colorado School of Public Health (2016-2019), a Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Exercise Science with a concentration in Health Promotion from Colorado State University (1998-2001), and an Associate’s Degree in Science from Otero Junior College (1996-1998).

Valley-Wide Health Systems, a Community/Migrant Health Center (C/MHC), is a private non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation governed by a volunteer community board. Established in 1976, Valley-Wide has fifteen primary health care delivery sites strategically located throughout multiple rural counties in Southern Colorado. These full-service clinics are complemented by nine dental clinics, four physical therapy clinics, and numerous ancillary health services to address routine and/or complex needs of the patient populations and communities served.
