Valley Health System
Mark Baker is vice president, Facilities and Construction, for Valley Health System. He is responsible for clinical engineering, construction services, engineering, safety and emergency management and security.
Baker joined Valley Health in 1994 as a facilities engineer and within four years was promoted to director. He has directed the design, construction and occupancy of more than $700 million in projects including replacement facilities for Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Page Memorial Hospital and War Memorial Hospital; the Winchester Medical Center north tower expansion; and the new emergency department and medical building at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. He has also implemented clinical engineering, construction, and energy management programs, resulting in considerable cost savings.
Baker earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering technology from the University of Maryland.
