Leslie Rakes Phr

Leslie Rakes, PHR, SHRM-CP, has a diverse work experience in the field of Human Resources. Leslie currently serves as the SVP of Human Resources at ValleyStar Credit Union since September 2020. Prior to this, they worked as the Human Resources Manager at Blue Ridge Aquaculture Inc from May 2019 to September 2020. Before that, Leslie held the position of HR Generalist / Recruiter at Sovah Health from June 2011 to June 2019. Leslie began their career as a Human Resources Assistant at American of Martinsville from April 2008 to April 2010.

Leslie Rakes, PHR, SHRM-CP, holds an Associate of Arts degree with a double major in Accounting and Management from American National University. Leslie also obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus on Management from the same institution. In addition to their academic qualifications, Leslie has attained several certifications, including the SHRM-CP from SHRM in February 2015, the Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in January 2015, and the OSHA-30 certification in December 2013.
