Charis Turtiainen

Charis Turtiainen currently serves as a Global Category Purchaser at Valmet, focusing on Site Management Services since August 2021. Prior to this role, Charis worked as a Project Engineer (Translator) at Valmet Technologies Oy from May 2019 to February 2022 and held positions including Course Instructor at Länsi-Suomen Opisto, Curriculum Designer at the Finland-China Education Association, and Maths, Physics & Chemistry teacher at the Finnish International School of Tampere. Charis’s early career includes research at the Optoelectronics Research Centre at Tampere University of Technology from March 2007 to July 2011. Academically, Charis holds a PhD in Physics from the University of St Andrews and a Bachelor of Science in Experimental Physics from the University of Galway, with additional education from Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
