Scott Tierney

Scott Tierney is the managing partner at Valo Ventures. Scott has over 25 years of experience in the investment banking and private equity industries.

Scott started their career at Morgan Stanley in 1994, where they worked in the investment banking division for six years. Scott then joined Epoch Partners, a boutique investment bank, in 2000 as head of investment banking. In 2001, Epoch was sold to Goldman Sachs.

In 2002, Scott co-founded Archimedes Technology Group, a nuclear technology company. Scott served as president and COO for four years until the company was sold to General Atomics in 2006.

After Archimedes, Scott became a managing director at Steelpoint Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in growth stage companies. Scott worked at Steelpoint for five years before joining Google in 2011.

At Google, Scott served as director of corporate development and strategic partnerships at Nest Labs, a subsidiary of Google focused on developing smart home products. Scott left Google in 2018 to start Valo Ventures.

Scott Tierney's educational career consists of a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies from Harvard University and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
