A área de intervenção representa menos de 4% da área do país, mas trata e valoriza 20% de todos os resíduos urbanos produzidos em Portugal.

Esta grande quantidade de resíduos é tratada e valorizada através de um moderno Sistema de Gestão Integrada, apropriado à composição dos resíduos urbanos produzidos. O que para o cidadão já não tem valor e é deitado fora, na Valorsul transforma-se em recurso, em matéria prima que se pode transformar numa nova embalagem, em eletricidade, composto para a agricultura ou em agregado para a construção rodoviária.
