Jim Nelson

Jim Nelson is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in the field of psychology and theology. Currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Psychology and as Affiliate Faculty in the Department of International Studies at Valparaiso University since 1987, Jim has also held various notable positions, including Guest Professor at the Center for Theology, Science and Human Flourishing at the University of Notre Dame and Visiting Scholar in the Department of Theology at the same institution. Additionally, Jim has served as President of the Indiana Counseling Association and has held leadership roles in international academic collaborations, including Director of the Lutheran Colleges China Consortium. Jim Nelson earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Washington State University and a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary.
