Ilari Ahola serves as a Ministerial Adviser at the Ministry of Finance of Finland since January 2014, focusing on the long-term sustainability of public finances, the ageing population, pension system reforms, and social and health care reform, while also being a member of the EU's Ageing Working Group. Prior experience includes roles as a Financial Specialist and Senior Statistician at Statistics Finland, where responsibilities included handling Quarterly National Accounts and municipal finance statistics. Ilari also gained experience as a trainee at the Ministry of Finance, writing a discussion paper on the effectiveness of fiscal rules, and at Statistics Finland, where a Master's thesis on business cycle stylized facts was developed. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Helsinki, completed in 2012.
