Veli Auvinen

Veli Auvinen is an experienced economist currently serving as a Minister Adviser in the Excise Duty Unit of the Tax Department at the Ministry of Finance of Finland since October 2009. Prior roles include positions as a Policy Officer (Seconded National Expert) at the European Commission's DG TAXUD, focusing on indirect taxes, and as a National Expert in Professional Training at DG Enterprise and Industry, where Veli Auvinen analyzed economic reforms in Latvia under the Europe 2020 Strategy. Prior to these roles, Veli Auvinen worked at Nordea in various capacities, including as a specialist in Life and Pensions and as a bank adviser. Veli Auvinen's educational background includes a Master of Science in Economics from Helsingin kauppakorkeakoulu and study at Athens University of Economics and Business.
