Ashley D Penn

Ashley D Penn has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Ashley D is currently working as a Communications Specialist at Valtra Inc. since September 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Landscape Architect and writer for Jolma Architects Ltd from July 2017 to September 2021, specializing in urban design and business development. Ashley D also served as a Tampere Talent Ambassador for the City of Tampere from December 2016 to September 2021, promoting Tampere, Finland as a great place to live and work.

Ashley has experience working as a freelance Landscape Architect and Writer from November 2015 to December 2016. Ashley D worked as a Content Director at Landscape Architects Network from April 2015 to June 2016, leading and managing a team of international writers and developing writing and quality assurance guidelines. Ashley D also worked as a Co Editor at Landscape Architects Network from September 2014 to March 2015, writing and editing articles for the online publication. Prior to that, they worked as a Contributing Writer for the same publication from September 2012 to September 2014.

Ashley's previous experience includes working as a Maisema-arkkitehti at Arkkitehdit Kontukoski OY from August 2015 to November 2015 and as a Finnish Language Student at Onnenkieli from August 2014 to July 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Garden Designer at Edward Norman Landscape Design from September 2006 to June 2007, and as a Landscape Gardener at HAMK from July 2005 to September 2005, where they were involved in landscape construction and maintenance tasks, teaching landscape construction techniques, and installation of a large rock garden with a water feature.

Ashley D Penn has an extensive education history in the field of landscape architecture and design. In 2000, they obtained a National Diploma in Amenity Horticulture from Writtle University College. Ashley D went on to pursue a BSc (Hons) in Landscape and Garden Design from the same institution, completing their degree between 2002 and 2006. During their undergraduate studies, Ashley participated in an Erasmus exchange program at Lepaa College, Häme University of Applied Sciences in Finland, where they focused on Landscape Architecture.

After obtaining their bachelor's degree, Ashley furthered their education by pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture at Writtle University College from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, they obtained certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. In 2012, Ashley became a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute in the UK. Ashley D further solidified their professional standing by becoming a member of MARK, Suomen maisema-arkkitehdit, an association of landscape architects in Finland, in November 2016.
