Wineke Smid, PhD has extensive experience in the field of forensic research and assessment of sex offenders. Currently, they are the Head of the Research Department at Van der Hoeven Kliniek, where they lead a team of researchers, conducts empirical research projects, and provides training on sex offender risk assessments. Prior to this role, they worked as a Researcher/PhD at Forensic Care Specialists, focusing on various research projects related to the etiology and treatment of sexual deviance. Additionally, they have served as a member of ATSA and NL-ATSA, and as an Editorial Board Member for Sexual Abuse.
Wineke Smid, PhD completed their education in Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. Wineke obtained a MSc cum laude in Clinical Psychology in 2004. Later, they pursued a PhD in Psychology at the same university and successfully completed it in 2014.
