Jan de Smet

Jan De Smet is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the agricultural sector. Since July 1998, Jan De Smet has served as Managing Director of Van der Knaap Group of Companies and also holds the position of Owner at De Smet International. Prior to these roles, Jan De Smet was a Product Manager at Compo Benelux from September 1995 to August 1998 and worked at the University of Ghent as a Researcher from 1988 to 1995, focusing on the quantification and mapping of phosphate saturation in arable lands due to fertilization using liquid organic manures. Jan De Smet holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering with a specialization in Soil Science from the University of Ghent, obtained between 1981 and 1986.
