Floriaan van Laar

Floriaan van Laar has extensive work experience in the legal field, with a focus on regulatory affairs. Floriaan started their career as a Beleidsmedewerker at the Ministry of Finance in 1996 and worked there until 2000. From 2000 to 2021, they held various roles at ING, including Senior Legal Counsel Regulatory Affairs, Short Term Assignment in Compliance Risk Management, and Managing Legal Counsel. In these positions, they provided support and advice on obligations arising from Dutch and EU supervision legislation. Since 2021, Floriaan has been working as the Lead Expert Legal at Van Lanschot Kempen.

Floriaan van Laar has a diverse education history. Floriaan started by earning a Propedeuse in Accountancy from Hogeschool voor Economische Studies Rotterdam (HES) in 1990-1991. Floriaan then went on to Leiden University, where they obtained a master's degree (mr.) in Nederlands recht with a focus on Civielrechtelijke afstudeerrichting from 1991 to 1996. Throughout their career, they pursued various professional courses such as a Beroepsopleiding bedrijfsjurist from CPO/SBB in 2001-2002 and Grotius specialisatieopleiding Nederlands & Europees Mededingingsrecht from CPO/Grotius Academie in 2004-2005. Additionally, they completed several training programs, including Algemene opleiding bankbedrijf and Effectenbedrijf from NIBE-SVV Opleidingen in 2001 and an Assurantiebedrijf B course from Sea Education Association in 1999. Finally, they attended De Baak/ING for the Start@ING Manager program in 2007-2008.
