Gijs Spijkers

Gijs Spijkers has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Gijs began their career in 2005 as a Management Assistant at Cargill, where they worked until 2008. In 2008, they took on the role of Academic Assistant at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. Gijs also served as the President of the Dutch Student Rugby Union (NSRB) from 2008 to 2009.

In 2009, Gijs had a thesis internship with Structured Products/Risk at Kempen & Co. Gijs then joined Cardano in 2010, where they worked as a Strategic Risk Advisor until 2015. From 2015 to 2016, they took on the role of Client Director at Cardano.

In 2016, Gijs joined Kempen Capital Management as a Fiduciary Management/Account CIO, a role they held until December 2020.

Gijs'smost recent position, starting in April 2020, is the Executive Director/Chief Product Owner - Investment Management at Van Lanschot Kempen. In this role, Gijs is responsible for the value chain of Institutional & Wholesale clients, driving digital transformation, and leading a multiyear Digital transformation program. Gijs has successfully implemented an agile way of working in the PO cycle, even in a remote working environment due to COVID-19.

Gijs Spijkers earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Econometrics and Management Science (Quant Finance) from Erasmus University Rotterdam from 2008 to 2010. Gijs also completed a secondary education at Odulphus Lyceum from 1997 to 2003 where they studied Economics and Mathematics. In addition, Gijs obtained the CAIA Charter from the CAIA Association in 2016. Gijs has also pursued various certifications including Managing teams, individuals and performance from Krauthammer, Analytics Translation from APMG International, Certified Scrum@Scale Practitioner (CSASP) from Scrum Inc., Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) from scrum.org, and Registered Scrum@Scale Practitioner™ from Agile Education by Scrum Inc.™.
