Erik Sautter

Erik Sautter is an experienced software development professional currently serving as the Lead Software Developer at Van Meter Inc. since October 2025. Previously, Erik held the position of Senior Solutions Architect at TaxAct from November 2014 to October 2025, where responsibilities included architecting modern, cloud-based solutions utilizing AWS-based microservices and JAMstack technologies, as well as developing and maintaining award-winning tax preparation software. Prior experience includes roles as a Sr Software Engineer at Rockwell Collins, focusing on satellite communications programs, and as a Web Application Developer at Cramer Development, working on intranet site updates. Erik also completed multiple co-op positions at Rockwell Collins, contributing to software and systems engineering projects. Erik holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, completed in 2005.
