Van Moer Logistics
In 1990, the then 20-year-old Jo Van Moer and his wife Anne Verstraeten started their own transport company. In 1993, Jo Van Moer expanded his activities with a small warehouse in Melsele and in 1997 he built a second warehouse in Temse. Two years later, he opened his first warehouse in the port of Antwerp. Through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions, Van Moer Logistics also started specialising in handling bulk and tank containers and expanded its intermodal operations. Today, Van Moer Logistics has 500 trucks, 2,000 trailers, 8 inland container terminals, 9 barges and 800,000 m² of warehouse space. Van Moer Logistics employs 2,200 people at 40 locations at home and abroad. Jo and Anne's company has grown into an integrated logistics service provider, a total partner for transport and logistics, which as a one-stop shop director of a multimodal logistics chain offers its customers added value and fully unburdens them in an increasingly complex (circular) supply chain. Van Moer Logistics constantly strives for a balance between economic, ecological and social interests. The company uses a flat decision-making structure, attaches great importance to family values and thus succeeds in remaining an agile organisation. Four operational business units provide day-to-day service to customers: - Transport & Distribution: Different types of transport. Our fleet is the binder between the 3 other operational departments. - Warehousing & Value-added Logistics: storage of palletised as well as bulk goods. ADR warehouses and Seveso sites. - Port & Intermodal Logistics: own terminals and barges provide a wide range of water-bound logistics services. - Bulk & Tank Container Logistics: a unique one-stop-shop concept for tank container logistics
