Martin Smouter

Martin Smouter is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the dredging and marine contracting industry, currently serving as the Director of Dredging Operations at Van Oord since February 1994. In this role, Martin oversees global operations for the Business Unit Dredging and is a member of the Management Team. Previous roles at Van Oord include Area Director for the Middle East, Asia, and Australia, as well as Area Director for Middle East and West Asia, Area Manager for North and South East Asia, and Project and Operations Manager in international locations such as Brazil, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Dubai. Martin has also held the position of Superintendent at Hollandse School Ltd and served as president of the board until April 2015. Martin began the career as a trainee at Check Lap Kok after obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences between 1990 and 1993.
