Brian Martin is a Managing Partner at Vance Street responsible for originating and executing transactions, working with management teams to reach objectives, and ultimately realizing investments. He leads all pre-investment activities at the Firm. Prior to joining Vance Street in 2010, Mr. Martin was in the Leveraged Buyouts Group at American Capital, where he primarily focused on investing in medical components and devices, specialty manufacturing, life sciences and industrial technology companies. Mr. Martin previously served on the Board of Directors and led and managed investments in Avalon Laboratories, Value Plastics, Axygen BioScience, BarrierSafe Solutions International, ECA Medical Instruments, FutureLogic, Pacific Handy Cutter, 3SI Security Systems, Adam Spence Vascular Technologies, A&E Medical and Secure Technology Company. Mr. Martin began his career at Robertson Stephens in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Technology Investment Banking groups. Mr. Martin holds a BS in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business from the University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Martin currently serves on the Board of Directors of International Aerospace Coatings, Motion Dynamics, RST / Measurand, Eirtech Aviation Services and Excel Scientific.
