Janani Gunasegaran Surender

Janani Gunasegaran Surender currently serves as the Energy and Emissions Project Manager at Vancouver Coastal Health, a position held since November 2023. Prior to this role, Janani worked as a C&EM Project Specialist at FortisBC from November 2021 to October 2023, focusing on deep energy retrofits and innovative technologies. From September 2020 to October 2021, Janani was the Program and Research Coordinator at ZEBx, where responsibilities included applied research and knowledge dissemination related to sustainable technologies and high-performance building projects. Earlier experience includes a role as Research Project Assistant at The University of British Columbia, concentrating on low carbon strategies for residential developments, and as Architect Project Lead at Primus Architects. Janani holds a Master of Engineering Leadership in High-Performance Buildings from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Architecture from Anna University Chennai, with ongoing education at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
