Vanderbilt Political Review
Joseph Humphries is a Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University since June 2021, specializing in modeling light-matter coupling and periodic graphene structures. Previously, Joseph contributed as an Undergraduate Researcher under Dr. Robert Scherrer and assisted Dr. Lenn Goodman with manuscript indexing and reference checking. In addition to academic research, Joseph has been active in the Vanderbilt Student Government as a Health and Wellness Committee Member, Second-Year Senator, and Gillette Hall Senator. Joseph also serves as a Contributing Writer for the Vanderbilt Political Review and held leadership roles with the American Enterprise Institute. Previous experience includes a research internship at ideascape and a report writing position at Iron Sharpens Iron Consulting Group, LLC. Joseph earned a Bachelor of Arts in Physics, Philosophy, and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University in April 2023.

Vanderbilt Political Review
Founded in 2008, the Vanderbilt Political Review is Vanderbilt’s first and only nonpartisan political journal. The objectives of the organization are as follows: To provide an academic journal to the Vanderbilt community that serves as a political forum for free expression, a free exchange of ideas, dissemination of news, and an outlet for creative work. To create awareness and encourage discourse on political issues and events. To provide an opportunity for students to learn and gain competency in mass communications skills, including leadership, management, writing, editing, and publication.
