Sara Malin has extensive work experience in various roles related to planning, design, construction, stewardship, gift and donor services, and advancement services. Sara is currently serving as the Chief Business Officer for Planning, Design, and Construction at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since April 2022. Prior to this role, they held positions at Vanderbilt University as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Stewardship and Gift and Donor Services from June 2020 to March 2022, and as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement Services from September 2011 to June 2020. Before joining Vanderbilt University, they worked at Carnegie Mellon University as the Manager of Executive Planning from 2001 to 2006. Sara also held positions at Vanderbilt University as the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives from 2007 to 2011, and as the Director of Strategic Initiatives from January 2007 to June 2007.

Sara Malin earned their Masters of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz School of Public Policy in 2006. Sara also completed a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University from 1996 to 2000.
