John O'Brien

John O'Brien is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in media relations and public affairs. Currently serving as a Senior Media Relations Specialist at Vanderbilt University since February 2022, John has previously held roles including Press Secretary at the Florida Department of Financial Services and Public Affairs Manager at the Florida Department of Transportation. Further, John has a background as a Communications Specialist at Georgia Power Company and has served in various capacities within the Florida Department of Transportation and the State of Florida. John holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Creative Writing and Humanities from Florida State University, completed between 2004 and 2006.
