Ryan Balch

Ryan Balch is a Senior Lecturer and Program Director for the Masters of Public Policy in Education at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College since August 2014. Balch has extensive experience in education, including founding My Student Survey and serving as its CEO and Chairman. As a consultant, Balch has worked with the Tennessee State Board of Education and other organizations on research design and data strategy. Previous roles include Director of Teacher, Leader, and School Effectiveness for Baltimore City Public Schools and Principal Investigator for Georgia's Race to the Top application. Balch holds a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt University, a Masters of Education in Science Education from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Duke University.
