Melinda Myers, LMHC, has extensive experience in the mental health field, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Clinical Operations, Day Program Coordinator, and Senior Clinician at Vanderheyden, Inc. since January 2005. In this role, Melinda specializes in treatment planning and implementation for emotionally and developmentally disabled adolescents in a residential treatment center. Additional credentials include being a New York State OCFS Dragon Trainer, a member of the START Child Advocacy Center Team, and a member and trainer of the Sanctuary Model Core Team. Prior to Vanderheyden, Melinda worked as a Mental Health Professional/Peer at REST from 1998 to 2013 and as a Counselor at the Academy at Swift River from April 2004 to January 2005, providing mental health counseling in a private boarding school setting. Melinda completed a Master’s degree in Community Psychology/Community Counseling at The Sage Colleges-Sage Graduate School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Sage Colleges-Sage College of Albany.
